ThermoCore delivers engineered insulation solutions for geothermal, steam, ammonia systems, and pressure vessels—based on in-depth analysis of your pipe stress model and system requirements.

Industrial Pipe Insulation for Critical Energy Systems

ThermoCore delivers engineered pipe insulation and industrial pipe lagging for geothermal, steam, ammonia and boiler systems, tanks and pressure vessels — tailored to your facility, not from a catalogue.

Thermal Insulation Built for New Zealand Industry

ThermoCore supplies and installs industrial insulation for oil and gas and petrochemical, food and beverage, dairy, processing and production, and water treatment plants throughout New Zealand — engineered for energy preservation, process control and asset protection.

Our Insulation Services

Our expertise covers hot and cold pipework, boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and equipment across New Zealand industrial sites.

  • Hot pipe insulation and pipe lagging — steam, geothermal, hot water and boiler systems
  • Cold pipe insulation — chilled water, glycol, ammonia, refrigeration, and cryogenic pipework
  • Pressure vessel, tower and tank insulation
  • Metal cladding and jacketing — stainless steel 304 & 316, aluminium 6061 and aluminium foil
  • Removable insulation covers for valves, flanges and serviceable fittings
  • Ducting insulation

Why ThermoCore?

ThermoCore delivers considered thermal insulation for industrial pipework, tanks and pressure vessels, grounded in a practical understanding of how systems perform beyond the design stage. We go beyond standard supply, providing preformed insulation and tailored solutions that improve installation efficiency and long-term reliability.

With a background in mechanical engineering, pressure piping and vessels, we understand the intent behind a specification and guide material selection on performance rather than assumption. Our product range spans aerogel (ArmaGel XGH), PIR, phenolic, Foamglas cellular glass, ceramic fibre and Rockwool systems, all aligned with recognised fire and combustibility standards.

Supported by a proven offshore manufacturing network and reliable logistics, we offer competitive, high-quality supply with clear communication throughout. ThermoCore is an emerging business, built on experience and strong relationships, with a clear focus — delivering insulation solutions that perform when it matters.

WHY INSULATE

Every Uninsulated Metre Is Costing You

Heat moves from hot to cold, continuously and silently. Uninsulated or degraded pipework, tanks and vessels bleed thermal energy into the plant environment every hour the system runs. Correctly specified industrial insulation interrupts that transfer, reducing heat loss, stabilising process temperatures and protecting personnel from hot surfaces.

For cold systems such as ammonia, glycol, refirgeration, chilled water, warm up against ambient temperature causing condensation. Incorrect insulation and lagging or poorly applied pipework, tank, or vessel insulation creates air gaps which exposes the risk of condensation and degradation.

For most New Zealand sites, insulation is one of the few plant investments that pays back on measurable energy savings and continues returning year after year.

Let's Insulate with Intention.

Industrial Pipe Insulation FAQs

What is industrial pipe insulation?

Industrial pipe insulation, often called pipe lagging in New Zealand, is an engineered thermal barrier applied to process pipework to reduce heat loss or heat gain, maintain process temperature, prevent condensation on cold lines and protect personnel from hot surfaces. Material and thickness are selected against operating temperature, operating pressure and ambient conditions.

They describe the same thing. “Pipe lagging” is the common trade term in New Zealand and Australia, while “pipe insulation” is the specification term. ThermoCore supplies both hot and cold pipe lagging systems for industrial and commercial plant and equipment.

Aerogel (ArmaGel XGH), polyisocyanurate (PIR), phenolic, Foamglas cellular glass, ceramic fibre, Rockwool and Armacell flexible systems, finished with stainless steel 304, stainless steel 316, aluminium 6061 or aluminium foil cladding, and removable jacketing.

Oil and gas and petrochemical, food and beverage, dairy, processing and production, and water treatment.

ThermoCore is based in Auckland and works throughout New Zealand, with core service areas across Auckland and the North Shore, the Waikato District, Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty. Services now extend into Australia.

We review the minimum and maximum temperatures of the system, the minimum and maximum pressures (believe it or not there are expansion joints for insulation too!), the size of the equipment, and the contents within the pipework, tank, or vessel. We then calculate the correct insulation thickness, material, and density for the operating parameters, ambient conditions and performance target — rather than defaulting to a standard thickness and insulation material.
